water for all.

If there is any magic on this planet it is contained in water.
Water, as we all know, is essentially required for sustaining life. All kind of species, including human beings, require water for their survival, and from time immemorial: it has played a vital role in the origin and development of civilizations, as also the political and state organizations.
The great human civilization were, therefore, developed on the banks of the major rivers— the Indus in India, the Nile in Egypt, the Tigris and Euphrates in Mesopotamia, and the Hwang Ho in China. It is also a historical fact that; some civilizations failed, when their water supplied failed or were mismanaged.
The total available water on earth is estimated to be 1500 ×10 b cum. About 97% of this quantity is contained in the oceans, and is hence saline in nature and not-potable. Out of the balance 3%, which is available as fresh water; about 2% is contained as ice on poles, and 0.75% as ground water.  Out of remaining about 0.25%; 0.24% exists in the form of glaciers and snow and only 0.01% is found available in lakes and rivers at any given times.
Water in fact can’t be produced or added, as and when required by any technological means. Although, man could to a certain extent modify the pattern of availability of fresh water supplies with respect to space and time, but the total quantity has basically remained the same, possibly over million of years.
Water is perceived in different ways: as a commodity, as global commons, as a basic right, as a sacred source or divinity……. and often one is under the strong influence of one perception and the other perception seems absolutely out of place.
Unmindful human intervention in damming the rivers, depleting forest covers     et.al. has silenced many rivers and water bodies that even these are crying for their due share of  water ; which has made the nature  angry and wild , and  has  caused more miseries for all living beings/ecology.
Water sharing disputes; among communities, states, nations are, as old as the earth it self and these need to be addressed as per state/national/international laws/ conventions and in fact, establishment of an international parliament to address such disputes is essential.
Every human being has an inalienable fundamental right:  individually and collectively to have access to this vital asset and our views / efforts would be that this free gift of God is made available free for all for all basic drinking and sanitation needs and at an appropriate cost for industrial and irrigation needs etc; in most sustainable manner of availability, demand, use, conservation and recharging of the resources.
It is most earnestly requested to be a part of this change and contribute with your most valued inputs/suggestions and send this message to as many of your friends requesting them to join and further this benign cause of making water available to on and all at most affordable price.
